Today my topic was about avenged sevenfold poster and t-shirts but i don't really know how I'm going to write about them. I only have one A7X poster, in my room, and i got a sweater and a t-shirt with avenged sevenfold logos for Christmas. I don't wear them in public because they have big skull things on them, and that's not really my style.. So they just chill out in my closest waiting for the days when i feel extra grubby. I wish i had more avenged sevenfold posters because i really love them but i couldn't find any in Winnipeg when i last went. So if you want to get my a gift sometime, get me an avenged sevenfold poster and ill love you forever.

Synyster gates and Zacky Vengence have their own clothing brands and individual items made for them. Syn's is called "Syn Gates Clothing" and Zacky's is "Vengence University". Johnny Christ, M Shaddows and the Rev wear just about anyything like every other human being on the planet. They are all also often seen sporting Jack Daniels Whiskey tshirts.

The Rev '

The Rev was the drummer of the band Avenged Sevenfold and his real name was James Owen Sullivan. His full stage name was The Reverend Tholomew Plague, but was later just shortened to "The Rev". He was only four years old when he got his first pair of drum sticks and he got his first drum set at the age of eleven. He was only eighteen when he recorded his first album with Avenged Sevenfold. He was an amazing drummer and won many awards because of it. He also played the piano really well and it can be heard in some of the songs. He also was a backup singer in certain songs. Actually, all the band members are decent singers when you can hear them in the background. Just a talented band all around. However, on December 28, 2009, James Owen Sullivan was found, dead, in his home. His death was supposedly due to natural causes, but eventually it was reportedly due to a mixture of medications and alcohol. I find it really sad that people with so much talent make it to the top and are making so much money, then ruin it all by overdosing. Pretty much all the stars that are found dead, die from overdosing on either street drugs or pharmaceutical drugs. What a waaaste of talent. Its really frustrating at times. These people need to figure their lives out!

Avenged Sevenfold Drummer James "The Rev" Sullivan Found Dead

James Sullivan, the drummer for Orange County, California based rock band Avenged Sevenfold and better known to his fans as "The Rev," was found dead in his home yesterday (December 28th.) A local examination claims that he passed away from natural causes. His bandmates from Avenged Sevenfold has posted the following message online:

"It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we tell you of the passing today of Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan. Jimmy was not only one of the world's best drummers, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy's family and we hope that you will respect their privacy during this difficult time.

"Jimmy you are forever in our hearts. We love you."

Johnny Christttt

Johnny Christ is the bass guitar player for Avenged Sevenfold and his real name is Jonathan Lewis Seward. It was during high school that Johnny met up with the creators of the band, M.Shadows, Zacky Vengeance, The Rev and Synyster Gates. In 2002, he was invited to join the band as a bass guitarist and he of course agreed. It is said that he actually dropped out of school to join the band in touring and playing. He must have been really into playing with Avenged Sevenfold to actually drop out of school. I cant imagine his parents enjoying that too much. But really, I'm pretty sure he is making more money than all his other graduate friends. Lucky guy. That just proves that we don't need school! On the Avenged Sevenfold DVD, “All Excess” while the members of the band were talking about how they got their stage names, Johnny said that when he first joined the band he would always sign “Johnny” when he was signing autographs, and the other members were ragging on him, stating that he needed a last name. Eventually Zacky Vengeance came up with Christ and said; “Hey why don’t you become Johnny Christ?”, to which Johnny replied, “That’s REALLY ballsy, everyone’s gonna hate that; so I should definitely go with that.”

Johnny is the younger brother of a schoolmate of Synyster Gates. He recalled being in high school and being picked on by Syn and The Rev. Later, when Avenged Sevenfold was created, he came down to the garage where they constantly practiced and tried to impress them with his bass skills.

; Synyster Gates

Synyster Gates is the lead guitarist from Avenged Sevenfold and his real name is Brian Elwin Haner Jr. The name Elwin is.. quite a name.. might have to name my first kid that. Synyster Gates studied as a musician in Hollywood until he got a call from the Rev, who is the drummer in Avenged Sevenfold, asking if he wanted to be the lead guitarist. Synyster Gates said yes, of course, i mean who would give up that opportunity. He joined the band at the age of eighteen and he won an award in 2006 for the guitarist of the year. Thats a huge honor and i see why he got it, because he's friggin' awesome and i love the way he plays. It was said that up until he started studying as a musician he was self taught by watching music videos and stuff. I find it really cool that he taught himself and turned out to be a great guitarist. Tattoos !

I wanted to do a post on tattoos because i love looking at them and i really want one someday. Im pretty excited but ill have to wait another year until im "allowed". Which kinda sucks but whatever. So a lot of avenged sevenfold fans get tattoos and i think that really shows how much they love and support the band. I've read articles on how the lead singer, M. Shadows, thinks its the most awesome time when fans come up to the band with A7X tattoos on their bodies. He says it's awesome how they have avenged sevenfold ink in their skin. I would definitely get an avenged sevenfold tattoo, no question about it, and i probably will in about a year too! Here are some A7X tattoos that i found. I like some of them but then others are all about the skulls and cross bones and i cant really say im a big fan of those.. i would probably just go for the "A7X" letters put somewhere in cool writing.

♥Because Matt likes the biblical story of the four horseman he decided to have a sleeve created for his left arm. He thought that the horses with their muscles would look really cool. He calls it Sleepy Hollow meets the bible. The sleeve was completed during the recording of "Avenged Sevenfold" the album.

♥Matt's first tattoo was of the logo for the band H2O. They are the first punk band he really liked. It is located on his lower leg. He got the tattoo when he was 14 years old. His parents found out about it when he was in the 8th grade. They were not happy at the time but now they don't care. His second tattoo was of a heart with flames around it and in the middle of the heart are the words "True till death". He got that tattoo when he was 15 years old.

♥Located on Matt's upper right arm is a microphone representative of his being a singer. He has a skull and crossbones with the 7 for sounding the seventh trunpet on it. His right arm also has many other various items including a small rocket ship, heart, a rose creating a full sleeve. He also has A7X tattooed on his right wrist and praying hands on his right forearm.

♥Located on Matt's chest is two nautical stars that are blue and black. He also has the cover for "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" recreated on his chest. He has his own version of the Deathbat located on his lower abdomen. He says the Deathbat is representative of the Waking the Fallen album. The artist used a lot of magentia tones in its colors.

♥Matt never wants to tattoo his face but he has plans for going up his neck someday. He also has a design in mind for a backpiece but he is not telling anyone what it is because if someone went and got it before he did he would be pissed..

♥Matt got the portrait of Jason Berry (J. B. Dizz) who had been Jimmy's drum tech for years in 2008. Kat Von D did it at her shop. Matt and Jason had a bet to see who could go the longest without cutting their hair. Matt broke over and cut his first so Jason won but during that time Jason had almost a complete personality change. He become crazier as Matt has said so in honor of the whole deal he got Jason's portrait on his leg. Note: Jason was Matts best man at his wedding and Jason also has a friends sleeve on his left arm which includes Matt, Val, Jimmy and Johnny just to name a few.

M. Shadows .

So this is day two of my amazing blog, and i've decided that if you've gotten through reading my small novel-like intro, then you might be able to bear through this one. I've come to the conclusion that today shall be about the lead singer of Avenged Sevenfold, also known as M. Shadows. Writing his name makes me wonder why singers change their names, and where they come up with the ones they do change to. What would you change yours to? If you have any really creative choices, i definitely encourage commenting on this post, to let me know. Buuut anyways. Back to M.Shadows. His real name is Matthew Charles Sanders and he was born july 1, 1981. Crazy enough, he started playing the piano first when he was a youngin, then eventually began learning the guitar. I guess he found that he had a pretty awesome voice and sang with a highschool punk band during his school years. In 1999, he and some band members who are still with him in Avenged Sevenfold today, created A7X and Shadows was going to choose the name "avenged sevenfold" or "lips of deceit". Im personally glad they chose what they chose. This is a poster of them in their earliest years, which i find kind of intimidating and a bit creepy, and the next picture down is that of M.Shadows.

The band was formed in 1999 in Huntington Beach, California with original members M. Shadows, Zacky Vengeance, The Rev and Matt Wendt. M Shadows came up with the name as a reference to the story of Cain and Abel from The Bible, which can be found in Genesis 4:24, although they are not a religious band. Upon its formation, each member of the band also took on a pseudonym which were already nicknames of theirs from high school.

Welcome to the Family

So this is my first real blog, and i'm not really sure what to expect with these things, or what to talk about really, but i figured i'd give it my best shot. The purpose of this blog is to show everyone how much i love the band, Avenged Sevenfold, and everything they do. I hope that many other fans see this and maybe learn a few things along the way. I'm also hoping that this blog doesnt turn into a disaster and make everyone leave immediately after seeing this post. I'm not trying to make this all serious and lame, but it's for school, and school just happens to be that way. I will, however, try my best to make it interesting. Below, is a picture of my most favourite band, the famous A7X.

So i've already gone over how this blog is going to be all about Avenged Sevenfold, so if you really hate that band, or genre, you'd be better off in leaving now. I first heard this band last year i believe, on my brother's music, and loved everything about them right away. I don't think there's one song of theirs that i honestly do not enjoy listening to. The album, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, is as scream-o as they get, but the rest is not as metal as you would think. Throughout my time with this blog, i'll be talking about the band members and such, how they became part of the band, and maybe some secret talents they discovered along the way. I'm also going to be discussing some of my personal favourite songs, which on your part, as the reader, may not be as enjoyable as you might have hoped, but you can just skip that post if necessary. I think i'll also be following their tours or just talking about where have played and what not. My brother had gone to one of their concerts quite a number of years ago, but still says today, that it was an amazing concert. But i mean its avenged sevenfold, everything they do in my opinion is amazing. I've bought all of their albums and i love them so much; i dont think i go a day without listening to them, which is kinda funny, because i happen to be listening to "Dear God" right as we speak. Anyway, this picture posted above is a picture of the amazingly talented, M.Shadows, who happens to be the band's singer, whom i also wish to marry someday. Not a big deal. I'm going to wrap it up here, i hope this first post wasnt as terrible and hopeless as i thought it might be, and i'll be back tomorrow i suppose.
